Audio Feed

We offer two options for subscribing to the audio version of our podcast:

The quality of the audio podcast is usually great. But the file size isn't that heavy either. If you must know, we encode the MP3 files at 64kb/s mono and the resulting files range in size from 10-20MB, depending on the length of the message.

Video Feed

We offer two options for subscribing to the video version of our podcast:

The quality of the video podcast is pretty good. The file sizes are moderate for video, but if you think 18-20MB is large for audio, then you probably won't dig the video format. These files are about 80-100MB in size. If you really want a quality video experience, we highly recommend our Flash-based video webcast. (You can also listen to the audio webcast.) But for video on-the-go, or offline viewing, you can't beat the podcast.

How-to Receive Our Podcast

First of all, it's important to note that you do not need an iPod™ or any other MP3 player in order to enjoy podcasts. The name podcasting is a bit of a misnomer. All you really need is a computer with an Internet connection and a set of speakers or headphones. Check? Good, let's roll.

The best piece of advice we can give you to get you "tuned-in" is this: Download Apple iTunes. It is an excellent media player that works really well with podcasts. In fact, it has a unique podcast directory built right in. After downloading and installing iTunes, just use one of the "1-click" links above to access our subscription page. Click "Subscribe" and you are all set. iTunes will manage the podcast files for you. Of course, feel free to dig through the help files on iTunes for ways to enhance organization and enjoyment.

If you don't like iTunes, that's okay. There are many, many options for retrieving and storing podcasts. You might start by taking a look at Juice, an open-source podcast receiver. It's been around awhile (it used to be called iPodder), and it has a strong feature set. Also, you might enjoy the Wikipedia entry on podcasting.

Our Digital Pastor, David Russell ( | profile) manages the podcast and webcast. If you have any problems subscribing to, retrieving, hearing, or viewing media, please send David an email note. Or two.
